Cosplay Or Display?

At NRprops, we dedicate ourselves to crafting the most accurate Narnia replicas possible. Every detail matters to us, and we pour countless hours into making each piece look as though it stepped straight out of the films. Our priority is authenticity, which means our replicas are designed as stunning display pieces for collectors who value accuracy above all else.

In the world of filmmaking, props are rarely built to last beyond what is needed on set. Often, multiple versions are made with the expectation that they may break or wear out during shooting. For Narnia props now, almost every original prop that is available on the second market is either missing components or damaged. We’re striving to achieve the exact finishes and textures seen on screen, even if it means sacrificing some durability. To give one example from many, to capture the clean finishes on our leather products, we do not stitch our leather projects but glue them. Stitching would greatly diminish the visual authenticity. Choices like these help us preserve the aesthetic integrity of the prop, still keeping them good quality but less suited for heavy handling.

Altough we make small sacrifices here and there, this does not mean our replicas are low quality—far from it. However, they are not intended for extreme cosplay or daily wear. If you are searching for props to take to conventions or to use regularly, we recommend seeking out cosplay-focused versions from other makers, sadly these versions never have good screen accuracy. So it’s important to ask yourself what’s important for you as a fan.

What are some universal things to keep in mind?

It is also important to keep in mind how different materials react under various conditions. Our replicas are made from a combination of natural and synthetic materials, and each performs differently depending on the environment. Extreme temperatures, whether heat, cold, or humidity, are especially damaging. Leather can dry out or warp, paints and finishes can fade or crack, and synthetic elements may soften or become brittle. When you combine these stresses with cosplay use—heat from wearing, handling, and crowded environments—the risks of damage increase significantly. For this reason, we always recommend treating our props as collectibles first and foremost, storing them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and enjoying them as display pieces rather than functional items.

We cannot be held responsible for any damages that occur with cosplay, handling, or physical activity. Our creations are collectibles, made for fans who want to own a true-to-film piece of Narnia magic. This could have an impact on any return or exchange requests if an item ends up being damaged from something else than display.
